Jesus at his last meal gave us a NEW commandment. “ love one another AS he loves us” Jn13. What makes it new is unlike the old “love others as you love yourself” this changes the dynamic. This new command is what the Holy Spirit is saying to his church today.
“The gospel asks many things of us but there is one commandment that says it all. According to Jesus it includes the “entire law and the prophets” it is love, supernatural love poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit.”

“Clericalism arises from an elitist and exclusivist vision of vocation that interprets the ministry received as a power to be exercised rather as a free and generous service to be given” (Pope Francis).
In a time where ideological partisanship has become the starting line for respectful dialogue. Pope Francis deserves a thank you for his example of courage in offering respect, kindness and friendship to those outside of his tradition.
There are so many voices political and religious demanding rather then persuading there listeners to embrace their perspective. That approach seeks uniformity not unity resulting in divisiveness over civility.
God wants to speak to the world through your life, do not let your mistakes and missteps cause you to abandon your mission. Stay open to His supernatural grace which purifies and illuminates.

Prior to our arrival in heaven church unity will never be achieved based on theological, cultural or political uniformity. However hearts humbled with thanksgiving over Gods grace to them in Jesus will find ways to make His passion for a relationally unified church their own.
“ Father if you are willing take this cup from me; yet not my will but yours be done” is there divine guidance in these words that demands some serious reflection as we begin this new year.
“I am convinced that love is the most durable power in the world. It is not an expression of impractical idealism, but of practical realism. Far from being the pious injunction of a Utopian dreamer, love is an absolute necessity for the survival of our civilization.” #MLK
“Life is not primarily a quest for pleasure, as Freud believed, or a quest for power, as Alfred Adler taught, but a quest for meaning. The greatest task for any person is to find meaning in his or her own life.” V frankl
“For the first time in my life I saw the truth as it is set into song by so many poets, proclaimed as the final wisdom by so many thinkers. The truth that Love is the ultimate and highest goal to which man can aspire” victor frankl
“For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.” James 3:16 Good starting point for meaningful analysis.
