@NanatsuBan@meatybrwnpen1s@MKBHD More RAM the better! Great for AI projects, you don't have to optimize / complicate your code if you want to crunch lots of data, and 90% of the time- all that idle RAM acts as a cache for your disk.
@meatybrwnpen1s@MKBHD It's just a perfect machine. Apple Silicon is insane, macOS is "beautiful unix," 18 powerful cores on the go, 128GB of RAM, great battery life, great display, great keyboard / trackpad. For building programs, I wouldn't go for any other machine.
@abuditheking@MKBHD I’m a programmer! I’ve been working on a bunch of side projects on my Mac Studio, and I’ll be traveling a lot later this year, so now I’ve got my machine to build on the go!
AI is a map from question to answer, but humans are the ones with the questions to answer and goals to fulfill.
Today, AI does set instrumental goals for itself, to meet higher-level goals set by humans. As models get smarter... the agents could set higher level goals, but can never know what you want without communication.
Knowing what you want, not necessarily how to do it, will be the role of humanity. Nothing wrong with that!
@filpizlo@zuhaitz_dev These terms have no definition and even if you did define them I don't see what the purpose would be. Rust is low-level. So what? No, actually, Rust is high-level. Wow, that changes everything! (it doesn't.) Useless debate, tbh.
@LowLevelTweets I love my setup. Wireguard VPN back to the house, routes all internet traffic. Only connection I trust, anywhere in the world, is my home ISP, because I kinda have to. As a bonus I get to run internal sites for myself, accessible to no one, but globally accessible for me.
