We are Zed Industries.
- Delta: A multiplayer environment for coding with agents, powered by DeltaDB.
- Zed: The world's fastest IDE. Open source. AI optional.
Delta is now in public beta. It’s a multiplayer environment for coding with agents and reviewing what they build, with every code change linked to the conversation that produced it.
Anyone can download it today on macOS, Linux, and Windows: https://t.co/R2N6CS23CO
Have you tried Delta’s subthreads? They’ve been fully recursive since v0.20.0. Fork one to explore another approach, ask an agent to summarize the parent thread, or follow a side question without cluttering the original conversation. How are you using them?
We tested 25 approaches to MCP tool search, including decision models, LLMs, and embeddings. Our benchmark runs 150 search queries against 536 tools.
We settled on weighted BM25 with a few normalization rules. Fast, local, no model or API calls.
Ready for the next Zed meetup in Amsterdam? Join us on October 27 for an evening of talks and socializing with other Zed users. We're joining forces with @jetbrains and @aitinkerers to bring you this meetup (and grow the community, of course!).
The Zed talk will be all about how we built Delta, a real-time sync engine to bring you a much faster and lighter way to talk to all of the humans and agents in your life. 😊

@bookercodes Can you check logs for me? "zed: open log" from command palette (cmd+shift+p)
I would expect one of the following
"Operation not permitted"/"Permission denied"
or
"No such file or directory"
do you see either?
Come meet the Bay Area Rust community! We meet every third Wednesday of the month. And our next meetup is already here, on October 21. We'll meet at the Atuin office in the Mission. And we have a very cool lineup of speakers including @bedrockrobotics.
RSVP below!
@sunglassesface The expectation here is that you highlight the agent's output and comment directly on it. I'm updating our welcome guide right now to call this out more obviously.
