@GrigoryRas82382 @AWRHawkins @houstonpolice The reason this law exists is they didn’t want someone walking around with a pistol in their hand and calling it “open carry”, which you know some knucklehead would do. The holster requirement for open carry attempts to solve that.

@karrihatley @AWRHawkins Correct. Good job on knowing the law. For everyone else: A visible pistol must be in a holster in a vehicle. The only possible exceptions are any sort of LE or armed security, because none of those have the same holster requirement as LTC or CC. Here’s the text of the law:
