the time she lies down and says nothing, which took a lot longer to build
than making her talk.

Every part of her is drawn in code. There is not one image file in the
app. Her outline is redrawn seven times a second so the ink never fully
settles, and that is why she looks hand-made instead of rendered.

Maika is a hand-drawn golden retriever who lives on your Mac and keeps an eye on your Claude Code sessions.

Today she is open source and free.

If you run more than one Claude Code session, you know the problem. You tab away and you lose the thread. Which one finished. Which one is stuck waiting on your answer. Which one is about to run out of room.

A dashboard does not fix that. Nobody keeps a dashboard open.

So I put the status on a dog.
