@joffeemergency has spent the better part of the week helping schools figure out what to do as we inch toward the end of a painful, difficult, and conflict-fueled year. Here's a thread with actions that schools can take today to make an impact on the rest of the school year:
Today's update & resources available at this LinkedIn post. Should be accessible to public. Please let me know if you have issues accessing it.

Update: Schools are doing remarkably well in their community recovery. It's hard work, it's going to be, at times, painful work over the coming months, but schools will recover as we need them to.
Join us tonight at 8 pm PST and tomorrow at 5:30 am PST for a school safety webinar focused on the current LA area fires. Joffe CEO, Chris Joffe, will discuss updates and actions steps to best support your community and campus. Access the webinar: https://t.co/Nfox19eR6Y
@joffeemergency is currently supporting schools in response to the #PalisadesFire. A number of schools have closed proactively for the day to support with traffic and a limited number are closed due to evacuation or other orders. Support is available on the emergency hotline.
In schools, we've had to talk about layering security and #swisscheese for years. We're expanding that dialogue to events and venues as we speak. Here's a recent conversation with @WWLTV and @devinbartolotta. See the station or my Instagram for the video: https://t.co/S64GTFCwL2
In partnership with our advisory board member,@KateSchweit, we are monitoring the news and determining next steps for support. Joffe’s current clients should call our Crisis Hotline and all other inquiries should email us: [email protected]

Our teams are monitoring the #FranklinFire. Information here: https://t.co/ZSxSAu8qCF. At this time, we're supporting schools directly (not sending a listserve or hosting a webinar). If you need support, please call the @joffeemergency emergency line.

I’m so incredibly grateful to have connected w/ @DaniSaveker & @glaslife! Her talent speaks volumes & to have her create an illustrated version of my book, All Clear, is truly remarkable! Here’s a sneak peek of her work highlighting some of the most important lessons! #AllClear
Happy National EMS Week! A huge shout out to our amazing EMTs & Paramedics at @JoffeEmergency. Your hard work & dedication are the driving force behind everything we do. Thank you for being the incredible people you are. I couldn’t be more proud to have you on our team! #EMSWeek
"You don't have to instill fear in us for us to understand the importance of preparedness, especially active shooter/lockdown drills" - Faculty EVERYWHERE
Our team @joffeemergency continues to monitor the storms affecting CA. At this time, we’re only monitoring as a limited number of schools seem to be affected (read: closing Monday) in specific locations. We’ll continue to monitor and advise if that changes via email & here.
via @NYTimes great article on fear. We believe in schools we can flip on the lights and reduce the uncertainty that creates so much of the room for our fears. https://t.co/MBQIxMqFUu
A reminder that active shooter drills and lockdown drills are not the same thing. Additionally, research has demonstrated a protective effect of using lockdown procedures - that are practiced during drills - in real-world mass shootings in schools. https://t.co/Mm0T5AJ26F 1/
Dr. Sciarretta - I was so incredibly honored, touched, and grateful to hear this review and what resonated with you! Thank you for your partnership in this work! I am so proud to share this!
Dr. Sciarretta shares his review of @joffechris new book, "All Clear: Lessons from a Decade Managing School Crisis." The book ventures beyond typical safety protocols, uncovering the layers of complexity in crisis management and much more.

@JohnCarrEM Thank you for sharing this! I’ve been thinking about how to quantify the effect of “white van syndrome” or “razors in Halloween candy” as generational based fears that are often perpetuated well beyond their usefulness. Would be curious if you ever meander that way!
‼️ICYMI‼️CDC launched a new dashboard to track Covid levels in wastewater at the state/regional/country level!! This tool can be an early warning that levels of infections may be rising or falling in your community. So proud of the team!
Check it out!! https://t.co/n2RUznksRL
