The Government have of course explained how fast this new variant is spreading, but I think it is hard to understand quite how fast.
I cannot stress how many people I know, from immediate family to best friends and distant friends who currently have covid.

We first eased our lockdown four weeks ago, and ever since our reported daily new infections have continued to drastically reduce. Many people predicted the opposite!

During lockdown it plateaued and now it's plummeting.

It's great news - keep washing those hands!

My optimistic prediction:

Getting almost back to the 'old normal' by August 1st, with minimal social distancing, should be our goal.

NZ has done it entirely!

Weddings, sports, parties - aiming for August would give people hope.

It's possible if we all follow the rules now.
