Riding for the Disabled Association (@RDAnational) is committed to providing life-changing riding therapy for people of all ages.

🐴 This year marks 40 years of The Princess Royal serving as President of the national RDA. As part of her ongoing support, Her Royal Highness visited the Helen Atkinson Group in Buxton, where she met volunteers and riders.

🥇 During the visit, The Princess enjoyed a riding display set to music from The Greatest Showman, presented rosettes to riders, and awarded dedicated volunteers with long-service certificates. Even the beloved horses and ponies - Cracker, Big Daisy, and Floyd - were recognised with rosettes!

Appalled and horrified by every aspect of this crime.

As one of the daughters of the perpetrator and victim said, this case demonstrates once more just how “well-integrated” predators and perpetrators of violence against women are in our societies. These were not marginalized individuals as some would like to believe but men from all walks of life…. but men with jobs, families, responsibilities.

Despite horror stories such as these that pass any level of imagination, women still get accused of being too paranoid about their own safety and security.

I am in awe survivor’s courage and bravery in insisting that the atrocious details of what happened to her be known by waiving her anonymity.

We’ve received a lot of messages in the last 24hrs, sorry I couldn’t reply to everyone but I’m sure you understand why. Thank you for your kindness and support, it means a lot.

Teddy my 7 yr old daughter was at the horrific incident in Southport yesterday.

She went in with her best friend, a friend she was so lucky to have; the smartest, prettiest little angel from the best family you could ever wish to know. It breaks my heart to say her little friend has been taken away from this cruel world. We just pray she is in peace and her family find the strength to get through this.

Her Mum, My Dad an I were one of the first at scene, when only 3 officers present so the media reports of it being armed officers who detained him is not true - it was local, every day police officers. They defied orders and risked their own lives to protect the lives of children from our community.

The things witnessed will live in our memories forever. Those same police officers; who get paid less than a McDonald’s manager, got home, hugged their own kids and got back up this morning to do it all again, are now being attacked on the streets.

No matter what your political views are, they are not the problem. Please, for the sake of the poor victims and their families, STOP THE VIOLENCE.

We will forever be in debt to Leanne, Heidi, Greg, Joel, John and every other hero who helped save so many lives.

With violence against women and girls declared a ‘National Emergency’, we need our male allies to stand up and call out troubling behaviour when they see it.
