I think One of the best choices Christopher Nolan made in The Odyssey was not letting us hear the Siren song. We never get a clean look at the Sirens; we never hear the song. As the audience, we're left frustrated; we want more, but that's the point.
The scene itself becomes a Siren song. It's giving us just enough to make us crave something we'll never actually get.
Odysseus monologue that the song was "a delicious itch you want to scratch, but you find it under the skin and can't reach it." That line doesn't just describe what he experienced.
It describes what we experienced watching the scene.
The Sirens aren't just singing beautiful music, they're exposing every promise you never kept, every dream you abandoned, every version of yourself you wish existed, and every person you've lost. The song changes depending on who's listening because everyone's deepest desire and deepest regret is different. That's why Nolan never lets us hear it.
The moment he gives the audience one definitive Siren song, it stops being ours and becomes someone else's.
Instead, he forces us to imagine what our Sirens would sound like.
And somehow, is a lot more terrifying..
Total betrayal.

The truest thing Nietzsche ever said;
"If you ki*ll a cockroach, you're a hero. If you kil*l a butterfly, you're evil. Therefore, morality has aesthetic standards."
The fact that Thomas Massie lost a Republican primary because he wants pedophiles to face justice tells you everything you need to know about the state of the Republican party.
