Even if this isn't the best environment for swing trading, stay active. Spend 30–60 minutes a day scanning the market and identifying which themes and sectors are showing relative strength.
Building your situational awareness is a vital part of becoming a consistently profitable swing trader.
I see everyone talking about $CRWD today, and rightfully so! It has been incredibly strong. I’ve personally been long $CRWD for a couple of weeks and trailing the rest of the position
For both $CRWD and $GH, I’m letting the MA20 determine my exit. I initially considered letting the 10 decide, but I wanted to give both setups more room to work
Qullamaggie on Believing in Yourself and Persistence Through Failure
“It can’t be a delusional belief in yourself. Many people believe they can make it in trading, but if they don’t put in the work, they will fail. And most people who attempt trading will fail. There has to be substance underlying the belief in yourself. For example, I confirmed every setup and every method I used. Whenever I heard or read about something, I tried to verify it. Does it really work? Is it something that happens only a few times per year, or is it something where you get hundreds of opportunities in a year? A meaningful belief in yourself is grounded in having done the work to know the probabilities are in your favor.”
It's too early to say but I've been doing this for 25 years and this is exactly what a major turnaround day feels like if we can manage to follow through all the way to the close today. Would be the perfect setup for July. Let's see. Worth a watch.
Uncle @Qullamaggie agrees.
"Focus on tight ranges. Doesn't matter what time frame. Tight ranges is all you should focus on. Wide and loose is for losers and tight is for winners."
A lot of people aren't equipped to understand this for various reasons but moves like this are necessary to create the conditions for the multi-week July rip we've seen for the last few years. The market likes to get everyone scared and offsides at exactly the wrong time. Watch.
Studying $SNDK on both the daily and weekly charts, you can see how linear and clean it is, and how it perfectly rides/finds support on the MAs with higher lows and tightness in a strong theme. Exactly what Q advocates.
I think many traders who get inspired by Q tend to become a bit sloppy with their charting after a while and start jumping on all kinds of random “flags.”
Sure, perfect flags are rare and those setups don’t show up often, but if you become more selective it will pay off and, most importantly, help prevent overtrading.
