The KZN Urban Forest Forum (KZNUFF) came about in response to the PSHB in KZN. The Forum comprises of horticulturists, botanists, arborists, academics, government officials and NGO’s. We create awareness, educate service providers, do field trials and research with academics.
KZN PSHB Forum Launch event on Wednesday 25 September 2019 at 6pm at the meeting room next to the main hall of the Durban Botanical Gardens Education Centre. Access is off Sydenham Road and is located behind the Munies Hockey grounds.
The tree once considered to be one of the rarest trees in RSA, Celtis mildbraedii, the Natal Elm, with only a limited number of specimens in Durban' Pugeon Valley and Stainbank Nature Reserves, is affected by the PSHB.
