Yes it is true snes games do store audio as 4bit adpcm, but the 4 point gaussian interpolator upconverts those 4bit samples back to 16bits.
Unlike philips cd players wich modulates audio samples to 14bits, sony cd players do modulate those audio samples on a cd to 16bits😀

If it is true that many early CD players from the 80’s including the philips CD player 303 could only do 14bits audio, then that means the snes could do much better audio as it can generate 16bit audio at 32khz at 128kbs, wich means it’s better then those early CD players🤔😀👍

Also i tought that cd audio was stored as 16bit pcm. but if it is true that it is only stored as tripple 8bits pcm to form part as error correction, then it will change everything i tought about it🤔
why is there otherwise an 8bit to 14bit modulation inside those old cd players🤔

As you can see the gbcversion of smb dx not only has the screen zoomed inbut nintendo also adjusted some platform hights to account for the low-res screen.
They also brightened the colors and changed luigi’s colorpallet a bit to make him more stand out from mario😀

As you could see, the gba version of smb3 is not only zoomed in but it’s status bar were also cut & split in two parts to be on both top & bothem on screen to fit on the low-res screen.
But nintendo also added or removed some tiles here there in the levels to make it all easier.
