CEO of inKind. We finance restaurants by purchasing a large amount of food and beverage credits (think gift cards) and sell them to consumers to enjoy meals.
@RealColinKresse Independent restaurants don’t really have the idea of a furlough. They were laid off, but will be rehired when restaurants reopen. Hopefully all restaurants can reopen
We surveyed our 400 restaurants. The ones who have fully or partially closed have laid off 88% of their staff.
That means that 4.4 million independent restaurant employees in the US have lost their jobs in the last week
@robleclerc Yes, and the government needs to move faster to provide a safety net. March is going to be the biggest loss of jobs in the history of the country and it’s people that are living paycheck to paycheck
@Ana1Sima I’m new to Twitter, so don’t mind at all if you retweet. I’m trying to get the government to understand how massive a problem this is. There has never been this many jobs lost in a month in the history of job reports that we could find
@vahlamorgulis Yes, it’s staggering. It’s a question on how many will be rehired (hopefully all), but not all restaurants will reopen. With a good government stimulus package, hopefully a lot will reopen.
@trickseye This is the website that we used: https://t.co/GyvTbOGCO8 which we posted in restaurant groups on FB. And we entered in the data manually from our restaurants and also pulled in news articles
@realDonaldTrump I didn’t vote for you and won’t vote for you, but kudos on your press conference today. You didn’t attack and you didn’t make it partisan.
You assured America that you are leading us through this crisis.
@MayorBowser, please go further and shut down all restaurants in DC. It’s better for our employees, our restaurants and our city
@LauraHayesDC thanks for the on-point article

@WeLivetoServe@patio11@WeLivetoServe The data is from restaurants not country clubs. The data I sited is specially from a counter service place in Austin where they were able measure guests before & after they bought a House Accounts. All restaurants should use HAs, even if it’s not through inKind
@Starbucks there has to be something wrong with your Starbucks for Life game algorithm. I’ve completed every challenge (that has to be 100 plays) and haven’t won a single star.
@marsmakes @patio11 @marsmakes, you’re right. We are working on improving how we explain all of the nuances of the model in a simple and clear way. We find that a lot of restaurants work with us initially to test it out and then 80% work with us again after they see it working
@WeLivetoServe@patio11 Not quite right @WeLivetoServe. 1) when a guest buys a House Account, data shows that they come in 2.5x as often & spend 80% more per visit (guests spend 400% more when comparing annual spend before and after buying a HA 2) We leverage the HA holders to send in new customers
