Val, Karen, Rachel, Jo and family are heart broken at the loss of John/Dad/Grandad/Great Grandad. He died peacefully at home on Friday 25th February surrounded by loved ones. Thank you to everyone for their comforting words ❤️❤️❤️
John’s family would like everybody to know that he has been taken terminally ill, and is at the end of his life. For everyone that’s discussed or disagreed and bantered with Dad over the years, we’ll pop any update on Twitter as needed.
@johnludds I met him at my Dads hospital bedside,I can honestly say he was one of the most inspirational men I’ve ever met,no wonder teams used to run through brick walls for him
@tSHandJ you obviously never saw Frank Rankmore play, possibly the finest centre half Posh ever had and I can assure you you wouldn’t have taken the mick out of him on the field
A bit of trivia.....
... In 1948 we travelled to Villa Park to face Aston Villa in the #FACup 3rd round.
Aston Villa 4-6 Manchester United
It would be a successful #FACup campaign and would be Sir Matt Busby's first piece of silverware as Manchester United manager.
@KelvinFavell@theposh Mate, cast your mind back to that time with xception of Ron Cooper how many other local youngsters made it at Posh,I soon realised there was no pathway,in those days Posh didn’t give a shit about us youngsters
@KelvinFavell@theposh I believe Doog ran him ragged, not surprised, could never understand United signing him,he was hopeless, nearly made Bill Green look good ha ha
@MaxCasper10001 John Thaw in title roll, grumpy old man forced to take abused and troubled young lad as evacuee from London, bit of tearjerker in places, maybe we’re all going soft
