Today's #CabinetShuffle preserved the core champions of Canada's #CleanEnergy transition. Significantly, @JonathanWNV's title now includes "energy" (Minister of Energy and Natural Resources). Well deserved!

Outstanding opinion piece by @Frank_Giustra . While it would have been gratifying to have Canada's breadth in nuclear power and recent, world leading initiatives emphasized more heavily, it would have detracted from this global and balanced perspective.

This sends a clear signal to our supply chain, education and training institutions, and investors - #nuclear is the past, present, and future of Ontario!
Announcement today by Minister @ToddSmithPC and @opg’s Ken Hartwick that we will be moving ahead with not one, but four BWRX-300 reactors at Darlington.
Ontario has already proven that nuclear can drive a successful decarbonization strategy and now the province is committed to nuclear over the long-term - zero emissions, stable power, and good jobs!

There is no path to net zero in Canada without Indigenous partnerships.
The newly signed long-term relationship agreement between the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation, @CNL_LNC , and @AECL_EACL , points to what can be possible through cooperation and consultation. 1/4
We will see more and more nuclear projects announced across Canada in the coming years and I look forward to our industry continuing to forge meaningful, long-term partnerships based on mutual trust, dialogue, and respect. 3/4
I have the greatest respect for the strength and resilience of the Ukrainian nuclear workers, and I look forward to the day when they are able to bring ZNPP back online and power a free and independent Ukraine.

The destruction of the Nova Kakhovka dam in Ukraine is resulting in a humanitarian and ecological disaster. It is heartbreaking that civilians who have already suffered so much are being forced from their homes once again.
4. The IAEA, who have been vocal about the potential for a nuclear incident at ZNPP, are making it clear that this is not a serious situation, at least in the medium-term. Given there are IAEA staff on site, they are the best, unbiased source of information.
Insightful piece by @billmckibben (which never mentions #nuclear ) calling on all of us to examine and, if necessary, re-evaluate our positions on clean energy solutions and projects in the context of the #climatecrisis https://t.co/8dG4wand6Z
Thanks for flagging this excellent piece by McKibben, Dan. All of us need to consider our receptiveness to clean infrastructure projects and technologies on the context of the existential crisis that is global warming. @CanadaNuclear
