Adire fabric should not replace the NYSC khaki uniform.
The khaki uniform is a neutral national symbol that represents every corps member, regardless of ethnicity or region. Replacing it with a fabric closely associated with a particular cultural tradition is bound to raise questions about fairness and inclusivity.
If the issue is that the current uniform needs improvement, then redesign and produce a better khaki uniform. But if cultural fabrics are going to become part of the official uniform, then every region and ethnic group deserves equal representation not just one.
The NYSC was created to foster national unity, not to create the perception that one culture is being elevated above others. Leave the khaki as the official corps uniform.
