Impending death stripes you clean of everything you once thought important. What is left is the essence of life which for me are the countless positive relationships I’ve had and continue to have.
Steve Jobs...
He died a billionaire at the age of 56. And his last words make us think about the meaning of
life...
- After all, wealth is just a life experience I've had the opportunity to know. At this moment, as I lay sick in bed reminiscing my entire life, I realize that all the recognition and wealth I achieved are insignificant and lack higher meaning in the face of impending death...
So,
take my advice and be courteous and considerate of others. As we get older, we become smarter and we gradually realize that a $30 watch and a $300 watch show the same time...
Whether we wear $30 or $300 purses, the same amount of money can fit in both..
Whether we drive a $150,000 car or a $30,000 car, the journey and the distance are the same, we always reach the same destination …. #HIMSS23
@jayparkinson Thank you Jay and likewise I’ve always admired your efforts to take the road less traveled to make healthcare delivery a better experience for all participants.
With great sadness, will not be attending #HIMSS23 This the the reason why: https://t.co/lrIk1OAhWj
While I won't be there physically, I'll certainly be there in spirit
@john_chilmark#HIMSS23. There it is. Less than 30 minutes into the conference and I think I see THE hot phrase for this year’s conference: Health Data Utilities.
@john_chilmark#HIMSS23 watching a session on “the digital front door” patient access and moderation of health information. A disappointing discussion. Almost no discussion of data moderation or ability to correct errors. Not close enough to emerging critical topics.
@techguy This will likely be my last “swan song” HIMSS as health continues to deteriorate. Looking forward to seeing associates, colleagues and mentors.
Who has the largest network of independent primary care?

As a longtime fanboy of Oak Street Health, I was excited to see @CVSHealth (finally) announce they were acquiring @OakStreetHealth for $10.6B, a valuation of $60k per at-risk member. And I have thoughts! https://t.co/FZy4SZPZXm
I’ve been asking both Epic and Cerner to build out this functionality for yrs now. They think connecting out to content play eg #healthwise is enuf. Not!
pretty cool to see a truly novel idea pop up
21st century cures created a lot of good things, but at least one problem to be solved - faster lab results that stressed patients and pushed physicians to communicate out of working hours

Good outline but only applies to physician roll-up plays that PE firms have been active acquiring.
Not only physicians though, my dentist, who fits target demographic gets 2-3 offers per week to be acquired.
In 2021, Private equity invested $151 billion into healthcare, a freaking massive sum of money in a $4.3 trillion industry.
Here's a primer on how the private equity playbook works in healthcare.
Who are your favorite people working in Health AI? I mean those who understand ML and, more importantly, how to bring these approaches to the REAL WORLD at scale?
Please RT if you’re connected with real-world AI and deployment focused groups.
Many AI predication threads are hyped & misinformed but really enjoyed👇

@janoldenburg In similar situation but not of my choosing, more my health choosing for me. When I do exit, plan on volunteer work, some intellectual (healthcare) some creative (art/museum). But this is all conjecture as again health status will ultimately call the shots.
@erenbali@CarbonHealth@CVSHealth Thought that might be the case.
However, CVS, through Minute Clinic, went with Epic. Going forward, Carbon in ambulatory, outside Minute Clinics?
