Just wondering, how is this going? Not that anyone will, or could be bothered to answer- regardless, this is a rhetorical question, because as we all know, it's not going anywhere. Alas, we wait. #MedLISisComing#MedLIS
As we come closer to the roll out of our national laboratory system MedLIS was welcomed this week in Cavan where we engaged in Train The Trainer sessions for the various elements of the system. Well done all
@PatKennyNT your current guest is speaking completely from both sides of his mouth. Blaming everyone in the hospital except the consultants who refuse to sign public contract because they want the ability to earn even higher salaries. Out of touch. Many inaccuracies in his waffle
@mringster As I read the latest communication from the @MedLabAssoc seems we are in reality no further now than we were then. We have a Labour Court ruling but the HSE still have not implemented the #DevineReport . New round of public pay talks have to take place first - usual HSE rhetoric.
A huge ‘Thank You’ to the 3,211 blood donors who attended our clinics this week. Blood donations are in constant demand so please continue to #giveblood. We need 3,000 donations each week to maintain a safe & sustainable blood supply #WeCountOnYou 🩸🩸🩸
Remember last year when #MedicalScientists went on strike? The Devine Report has recommended parity of pay and esteem with our laboratory colleagues but still @roinnslainte won’t implement the recommendations. @MedLabAssoc@ACSLM1 @DonnellyStephen @LeoVaradkar

Meet the newest members of the National Ambulance Service! These emergency medical service helicopters will be operated by Gulf Med Aviation on behalf of the NAS out of Rathcool, Co Cork.
VINDICATED.
An independent assessment of the role of Medical Scientists has reconfirmed the valid position of @MedLabAssoc members and vindicated their decision to take unprecedented industrial action in May 2022.
Ensuing from @IMO_IRL and @HSELive negotiations, as of the new year there's "New rostering rules to ensure safe rostering."
The obvious loophole there is to not roster, just bully NCHDs into working the extra hours.
Well played 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
@NICU_doc_salone@hpscireland Surveillance officers are normally @Senior Medical Scientist salary scale.... @hscpireland, @ACSLM1, @MedLabAssoc. What tomfoolery is this? Critically important roles, pay them what they deserve...
After changing hospitals this changeover, all I can say is I’m grateful to not work in UHL anymore. Nothing to do with the team or dept that I worked with. Everything to do with the management of the place and it’s disservice to the people it serves.
@fairy_dust@clare_eliza Chest pain is the perfect example of an appropriate use of the emergency dept. I wouldn't favour the GP over ED in that scenario. Cardiac chest pain is an emergency.
@CianSOBrien It's the one I have. Phenomenal battery life, great backlight makes it so easy to read in dark/low light. If you're like me you'll already be carrying a tablet/laptop so it doesn't need to do their job.
There's no mystery here:
Population 🇮🇪 vs Hospital Beds
1996: 👥 3,626,087 🛏️ 11,937
2022:👥 5,123,536 🛏️ 11,337
People: 👥 +1,497,449
Beds: 🛏️ –600
600 fewer beds for an extra 1.5m people.
So for every 1,000 of us, the no. of beds has DECREASED by 33% from 3.3 to 2.2
