Unfortunate report from Murchison Bay Hospital in Luzira Prison is that PFF Chairman @EriasLukwago has been evacuated out of the facility due to a medical emergency to unknown hospital.
The evacuation comes day after @kizzabesigye1 was also evacuated from the Prisons.#admin
@SolomonSerwanjj@GoodForestsUg Naye ate omuggo? gubadde gwetaagisa? Gulabika bubi in a society where it has been to brutalise people. Use another symbol; wakiri kozesa ogwaffe ogwekikuungu. Ogwo bwegutyo gulunda nte na mbuzi si bantu.
@DuncanAbigaba@HaroldTurijay@matthewbagonza Sam Mugumya has been missing for more than 500 days. The list is long …. what do you say about them? Is it because they dont concern you or because Bagonza is more important than the others? Just call for a release of ALL political prisoners and abductees. #FreedomNow
@AKasingye@DoreenNasaasira You will never make people clean on gun point. It is wrong. What is the deployment of police and army meant to achieve here? What is the perceived danger when members of the family go out to clean a street!? Seriously!
The subtext here is, Bahutu are subhumans and Bahima are the true humans. Some people warned our parents and grandparents about Museveni ascending to the highest office in the land, they didn’t listen and now we have to pay the price, if Muhoozi ever becomes President, whom shall we blame for genocide against people from the tribes he doesn’t like? The boy traffics in discrimination, ethnicity, sectarianism and hate.
@ODPPUGANDA A Sovereign nation like Uganda, with no extradition treaty with the USA, accepting this application is legally shameful. We cannot allow our own people to be tried outside our own jurisdiction no matter the crime. You must be a bunch of incompetent law practitioners!!
@SolomonSerwanjj@MoWT_Uganda Whatever the dream, ensure when designing roads pedestrians and cyclists should have their two separate paved lanes at either side of the road. Be the first model village to show this concern in design and implementation. Ffe tulikuwaandiikako mu byafaayo!!
For some days, she looked like she wanted to tell me something but held back. Then she came and sat herself by my side, and started small talk as usual. A few minutes into the chat, looking the other side, she said (words paraphrased) in an unusual low reflective voice: “daddy, although you don’t tell me, I hear about everything. I know what has been happening. I know what you’re going through, and I know why. I am proud of you, for choosing to speak for suffering people. I fear to lose you, and I know I will. But it makes me happy that people talk good about you, and my teachers keep praising you and telling me to be like you.”
Tears started forming in both our eyes, I held her arms, and we found ourselves laughing, when I said a cartoon of her crying would be a funny one.
We condemn the recent remarks by the Chief Justice of Uganda, Flavian Zeija, warning judicial officers against issuing injunctions on strategic government projects, and equating such rulings with treason.
This is intimidation. Judicial independence is a constitutional obligation under Article 128. No judge can rule freely on a matter after being threatened by the head of the Bench that a particular outcome could trigger a capital charge.
Communities losing their land, facing environmental harm, and inadequate compensation depend on injunctive relief to protect their rights while cases are being heard. Weakening that remedy removes the one check that holds power accountable when it matters most.
We are calling on the Chief Justice to withdraw these remarks and reaffirm every judicial officer’s right to decide cases, including granting injunctions, free of fear or reprisal. There is a long-overdue revision of the Uganda Code of Judicial Conduct to strengthen protections for judicial independence at every level, including the office of Chief Justice itself.
An independent judiciary is not a privilege for judges. It is a right of the people. #UgandaJudiciaryOnTrial #RuleOfLaw
@RuzindanaA There is no single reason they should be there. The population cannot rally behind an army that has kidnapped, tortured and brutalised members of the public it is meant to protect. They should stay at home or go andcome back in body sacks.
Mukulu,
For clarity, this arithmetic is misleading!!!
UGX 122.86bn is NOT a “toll collection fee”. It's the contract price covering operation and maintenance of the Expressway, including road maintenance, incident response, rescue services, patrols, toll operations, 24 hr security and surveillance, road safety facilities and other services that keep this road well-maintained as it is currently! Infact, toll collection is a small component of the entire project!
The UGX 146bn was a projection, not actual collections. By June 2026, Gov't had already collected UGX 191.15bn in toll revenue.
NOW, the killer statistic is actually that the Expressway has OUT-performed revenue projections in every year so far, as we have been reporting in the earlier years!
I could break down the figures since commencement (2022) much later if still needed.
Nice weekend!

Asuman Kiyingi: Netanyahu statue at Entebbe is an assault on Uganda’s sovereignty, constitutional order
No publicly identified statutory or other legal authority empowers the Chief of Defence Forces to unilaterally determine whom Uganda should immortalise on State land.
Nor has any public explanation been offered identifying Cabinet approval, parliamentary oversight, or a lawful administrative process authorising the dedication of public airport property to honour a foreign military commander.
The symbolism is equally troubling. The State appears prepared to honour the commander of a foreign military force that entered Uganda without consent while offering no comparable national recognition to the Ugandan soldiers who lost their lives defending Entebbe Airport in the course of their military duties.
Whatever one thinks of the government of President Idi Amin, those soldiers died defending Ugandan territory against foreign military force. Public monuments should unite a nation around its constitutional values. They should not celebrate events that remain deeply contested within Uganda’s own historical experience.

Mr Aine Sodo Kaguta asks a very pertinent question: “my fellow Ugandans, why should being the President’s wife, brother, son, or relative disqualify a Ugandan from serving their own nation?”
I agree with Mr Aine Kaguta-who was 1 year old and thus a non-entity, when his more illustrious brothers Mr Museveni and Caleb Akandwanaho, picked up arms and went to the bush-that being @KagutaMuseveni’s relative should not prevent ANYONE from serving the country.
It is EVERY citizen’s right to serve their country or to contest for ANY office, even the highest in the land.
Being a son, daughter, niece etc of the President shouldn’t curtail their aspirations to replace him.
In the same breath, accountability should extend to them like it does to citizens outside the friends and family circle.
For instance, how does Ms Alice Kaboyo-a corruption convict, whose theft is still plastered on the @IGGUganda website- continue serving as a minister in government while Agnes Nandutu is languishing in Luzira?
They both admitted to the looting. One returned the full loot of iron sheets, the other only paid 20 million while continuing to own billions in assets.
The one who returned the full loot is at the beach in Luzira Women’s Prison, the one who paid back a pittance is throwing lavish weddings for her children, with the President as Chief Guest.
Mr Aine’s big brother the President once said convicted corrupt officials can’t be allowed to serve in his government. When confronted with this Kaboyo reminder, he started speaking Arabic.
That selective application of state mercy is a problem that Mr Sodo’s rather valid argument can’t overcome.

@AaronKaviiri@KagutaMuseveni So the great Aron Kaviiri does not see how NRA’s M7 is using the gun today to respond to political dissent!! Really!!! Some stupidity is really born rather than being acquired on street!! FU
