@thatllbeadrive@AugustinaJJD@right2scripture@riecker I haven't done as much research about orthodoxy as Catholicism admittedly, but I do have a couple issues with it. The biggest problem is that it allows divorce and remarriage despite that clearly being against Jesus' teaching. It also seems to largely just be an ethnic club.
@fauxpolitk "Oh yeah, just believe everything the government says bootlicker." Retards got one shotted by COVID and now think literally every event is a conspiracy. They can't even answer the most basic questions about their hair brained theories.
@AugustinaJJD@right2scripture@riecker That makes sense. I suppose I just have to continue reading the catechism and trust in the teachings of the church. Thank you.
@AugustinaJJD@right2scripture@riecker Despite that, things like this or issues with popes dissuade me. Not to mention the church's political and financial contributions. 2/2
@AugustinaJJD@right2scripture@riecker Do you have any advice on understanding the more legalistic side of the church? I gravitate towards it largely because of the traditional aspects and the structure, but those things also provide issues for me. I understand praying the rosary, going to confession, etc. 1/2
@AugustinaJJD@right2scripture@riecker I'm considering converting (currently a prot) but stuff like this seems ridiculous. On par with Muslims saying you get extra "prayer points" for praying at certain locations.
@andgoodnewswith@BigDickBarclay It won't go through a guy the same. I hate to break it to you but the people who pick what calibers police and military use are a lot smarter and have a lot more knowledge than you or me. Still a lot better than 22 though.
@rhodeislander@BigDickBarclay Enough rounds of 22 will put someone down, but it's 22 so there's a very high likelihood it doesn't fire every time you pull the trigger.
This is why critiques of Gen z always fall flat. Many of the points may be true, but ultimately the gen-xer values being a retarded degenerate over all else. As if that's better than being socially awkward.
@AnchorStill@TesCalendar1 They have the exact same payload and towing, and electric makes more sense for a lot of people. Obviously if you're in a rural area doing a lot of long trips it isn't great, but for suburbanites who just need to be able to haul some lumber and make dump runs occasionally it works
@iam_shwa@Mgasgg13@JohnTraddington@ClassicalTheis By behavioral contraception I'm referring to pulling out. Why is it that intention doesn't matter, but only interfering with the act itself does? To be clear I'm not inherently opposed to what you're saying, I'm a prospective convert trying to understand logic behind the doctrine
@iam_shwa@Mgasgg13@JohnTraddington@ClassicalTheis I fail to see how circumventing sex at certain times to avoid procreation is different than other behavioral contraceptives. It would seem to be like orthodox Jews trying to circumvent clear restrictions.
