This tweet is misleading and sensationalized. It is based on a preprint study that has not been peer-reviewed or published in a reputable scientific journal. The study claimed to find a DNA sequence from the simian virus 40 (SV40) in the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, but this does not mean that the vaccine contains the full SV40 virus or that it can cause cancer.

SV40 is a virus that was found in some polio vaccines in the 1950s and 1960s, but it was removed from all polio vaccines by 1963¹. There is no evidence that SV40 causes cancer in humans, although it can do so in some laboratory animals². The DNA sequence that the study detected in the Pfizer vaccine is not the SV40 virus itself, but a small piece of DNA called a promoter, which can enhance the expression of a gene. This promoter is commonly used in biotechnology and molecular biology as a tool to study gene function and regulation³.

The study did not provide any proof that the SV40 promoter in the Pfizer vaccine was integrated into the human genome or that it caused any gene mutations or cancers. The study also did not explain how the SV40 promoter got into the vaccine or how it was detected. The authors of the study have been criticized for their lack of transparency, credibility, and scientific rigor⁴.

Health Canada, the regulatory agency that approved the Pfizer vaccine in Canada, confirmed that the vaccine does not contain any SV40 virus or any other animal-derived ingredients⁵. Health Canada also stated that the presence of the SV40 promoter in the vaccine does not pose any safety risk to the public and that the vaccine remains safe and effective against COVID-19⁵.

It is important to rely on trustworthy and reputable sources of information about COVID-19 and the vaccines, such as Health Canada, the CDC, or the WHO. They can provide you with accurate and updated guidance on how to protect yourself and others from this disease.
