Almost 4 months later, our comrade and brother, King Zale, remains missing! He was abducted near our studio in Kamwokya on 21st April 2026. The information we have is that he was tortured so bad that he's unable to walk!
As Dr. Kizza Besigye lies in an ICU room, fighting for his life, let's not forget that the stated intention of the Museveni regime is to murder him. Museveni’s criminal son, who derives pride in being a face of evil has been clear that "......Besigye will only leave prison in two ways. Either in his coffin after we hang him or shoot him or on his knees apologising to Mzee [Museveni]". That's why they have denied him bail, dismantled his legal team, and hounded him left, right and center.
The world must not standby. What is happening in Uganda is catastrophic. Let's use every avenue to speak out, protest and agitate. One blood-thirsty family must not be allowed to torture, maim, murder and hold a nation at ransom without consequence!
I joined @TheWorld's @MarcoWerman to discuss why leaders who cling to power at the expense of their people remain one of the world's greatest threats, and why Uganda’s struggle for freedom deserves urgent global attention.
Kindly listen to the interview here:
Fellow Ugandans,
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of our dear sister and comrade, Edith Katende Mufumbiro, the wife of our Deputy Spokesperson, Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro.
Edith passed on after 3:00am today following a hard-fought battle with cancer. At the time of her passing, her dear husband Waiswa remains detained at Luzira Upper Prison for no crime whatsoever. His only crime is speaking out against injustice and misrule.
The criminal regime placed on him and others the sham charge of "Unlawful Drilling" which apparently took place on 12th February 2025 at our Party Headquarters. In fact, on that day, Waiswa never stepped there as he was at Mulago Cancer Institute with the wife! The judiciary, fully aware of these facts, has chosen to conspire in this persecution.
Waiswa, alongside other comrades, has applied for bail severally. He has variously made an impassioned plea to the Court to be released on bail so that he takes care of his sick wife, but it has been denied. The injustice!
As difficult as it is, we remain hopeful that we shall overcome some day. May God grant the family, especially our brother Waiswa, the strength he needs at this time.
UPDATE: The criminal regime yesterday paraded before the Police Court, nine of the police officers who were assigned to our campaign! They were all dismissed from the Uganda Police Force with disgrace. Their crime? "Neglect of Duty". The criminal regime claims that they assisted me in escaping from my own home. Crazy!
And yet, in fact, these professional police officers were withdrawn on 15th January, which was election day. By the time I left my home on the 16th when the military raided, they were no longer on duty. But now, they're being hounded, persecuted, and punished because the regime can not live with the embarrassment of not being able to locate me for two months. They're looking for anyone to blame. In any event, these officers were deployed to protect me and not to spy on me. But this is what Museveni has turned all institutions into! He expects them to do everything illegal, criminal, or immoral to sustain his criminal enterprise. Choosing to act professionally has landed very many civil servants in trouble.
We understand that in addition to being dismissed, officer Kigenyi and another were taken back to detention at the police station at the Railway grounds and are still being interrogated! UGANDA WILL BE FREE. For now, we stand in solidarity with these officers, who, like many other Ugandans, have had to taste the wrath of a desperate regime in its evening.

Commander @mkainerugaba has crossed a red line and now the U.S. must reevaluate its security partnership, which includes sanctions, and military cooperation with Uganda. The president's son, and likely successor, cannot just delete tweets and issue hollow apologies. The U.S. will not tolerate this level of instability and recklessness when American personnel, U.S. interests, and innocent lives in the region are at stake.
NUP president Robert Kyagulanyi has demanded the immediate withdrawal of military personnel deployed at his Magere residence, accusing them of intimidation and blocking food supplies, leaving his family in fear.
