US Secretary of State Marco Rubio just put the International Criminal Court on notice with one of the clearest statements of American sovereignty in years.

The ICC has long operated as an unaccountable global body that seeks to override national governments, prosecute citizens of sovereign countries, and impose its own version of “international law” without any real accountability.

Rubio made it plain that this ends now:

“The International Criminal Court seeks to become the unaccountable arbiter of a new global law — empowered to prosecute and arrest our citizens at will and existentially threaten American sovereignty.
We will teach the ICC the full meaning of American resolve.”
