There has been a charter fishing boat using the Imperial Landing dock in Steveston. Perhaps the one that sank. Similar in size to this one although NOT this model. No fishing rod holders. Always looking overloaded with at least 10 people. No lifejackets.
The #Cowichan decision on aboriginal rights to land in #richmondbc is impacting the ability of specific landowners to sell or mortgage their properties. The #BCGovernment should provide guarantees that landowners will not suffer financially from any eventual settlement. #bcpoli
@WestcoastWood@StephenPunwasi@BIVnews A gimmick to let foreigners buy condos to revive the condo market when we should not be building condos. Instead we need purpose-built permanent rental housing which requires pre-zoning land for rental only to limit land prices and make rental profitable.
Trump's very real plan to annex Canada revealed in this New York Times article. Emulating Trump's hero Xi Jinping's plan to annex Taiwan. Trump will fabricate reasons for military intervention next. Americans are underestimating Trump. https://t.co/iQFwlHdKqS
Trump is running a protection racket. Give me and I won’t burn your house down. Blackmailers always come back for more. Canada must confront him with an export tax on energy, potash and aluminum rebated to Canadian producers in compensation for lower exports.@RpsAgainstTrump
Outside the U.S. circus tent, Canadians are pivoting to the rest of the world. Tariffs or no tariffs, avoiding U.S. products, including electric vehicles, has become our major national pastime. See https://t.co/g78tognkdL
@WestcoastWood “If a vote in the Legislative Assembly is tied, the Speaker has a casting vote” An NDP speaker means the Greens voting with the Conservatives would result in a 46 to 46 tie broken by the Speaker voting for the NDP. Yes?
On a chilly day, warming up at the Tesla fireplace while discussing EV charging with Minister of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation @Josie_Osborne and Richmond-Steveston MLA @KellyRichmondBC who took photo.
We discussed subsidies for a home transfer switch that switches from the electrical grid to an EV battery to supply a home’s electrical demand during the peak evening period and then switches back after 11 pm to recharge the EV battery. EV also provides emergency backup power.
John Roston, representing Plug-in Richmond, met with Josie Osborne, minister of energy, mines and low carbon innovation, and Kelly Greene, MLA for Richmond-Steveston, at Garry Point Park to discuss BC Government support for EV charging

Globe&Mail editorial on Housing Crisis “the real fault belongs to your local mayor … The power to decide what is built where rests with mayors and city councillors” Token efforts in #richmondbc are inadequate. Bold action is essential. /via @globeandmail https://t.co/eRZKpDSNyV

@j_mcelroy The City of Vancouver design guidelines for AAA cycling routes (All Ages and Abilities) requires that they have low motor vehicle volume, low vehicle speed and separation of bicycles from pedestrians. None of these are true for the proposed Steveston Hwy MUP.
@j_mcelroy World recognized experts at UBC on adverse health effects from vehicle emissions said the Steveston Hwy. project should be moved to Williams Rd. Untrue that air pollution is about the same on both routes. Outdoor physical activity should be at least 100m from the highway not 1m.

Expert respirologists at UBC think the proposed bike path beside Steveston Hwy should be moved to Williams Rd. due to health hazards from vehicular air pollution. Richmond staff are fighting tooth and nail to keep it on Steveston Hwy.
