@DrJaneMunro@Atul_Gawande@nytimes Primary care is the one thing successive Federal governments steadfastly refuse to invest in
It’s inexpensive, and proven highly effective
Go figure
@Peter_Fitz As a citizen of one of those Cwth members that’s not a republic, it felt intrusive to wake up one morning two weeks ago with a new HoS and no say in the matter.
why did @qantas scrub all the frequent flyer points off its customers during Covid whilst @VirginAustralia did not? My alligiance is now to Virgin and my recent flight to Darwin 5 stars
Voting for a new @RACGPPresident starts today and the field is large and interesting but we need someone not in the existing RACGP committees and councils as we cannot negotiate with a Covid headwind that got us huges changes under Dr Karen so now we need a savvy negotiator
@theMJA@GPswampwarrior Most mental health is handled very well by GPs and very few actually require a referral to a psychaitrist especuially as a Psychologist is a far better option in nearly all cases-I always wonder why Psychiatry is seen as more than a special interest
@QLDCountryGP @ian_hickie@Mark_Butler_MP Prof Hickie must offer evidence for his published claims about producivity and a broken system otherwise its not really relevant to the real debate on preserving the GP as the key Dr in the Australian health system who actually do make a difference
@TcameronTodd@joegarra61@96mitchclarke @DannyHill_VAU Why do we have ED staff managuing aged care??? rather than payoing GPs better as they are the Dooctors with the real skills in this area
I don’t appreciate being interrupted while speaking on serious risks of repeated covid infections.
I particularly don’t appreciate being interrupted by shouting LNP MPs who refuse to wear masks.
We all have a duty to look after each other. Here & everywhere.
Put your mask on!
@imaanjoshi @DrRCoull@DoverMarian@Mark_Butler_MP Prior to that strike I got $13 call out to attend say a major MVA in a small rural hospital a situation no city Doctor or health minister can ever really understand so why are they directing policy
@imaanjoshi @DrRCoull@DoverMarian@Mark_Butler_MP In the 90s the NSW state Govt only started to pay rural GPs better when we all walked out and I still got paid 20% for a low risk delivery in a remote town as a O&G in a city hospital done by their Reg what an ongoing joke
@BenisonOReilly And the visit to ED costs taxpayers at least $250 to $350 per visit vs a GP visit at about $60 to $80 minister @Mark_Butler_MP and thge CHO wonders why there is a GP shortage especially rurally
@ozjohnd @NSWHealth This is the highest daily rate of death from any single cause of death in NSW and we will not mandate crowd density/indoor masks or boosters but enforce speeding rules and drink driving for a much less severe death outcome what a joke
@ozjohnd @kentparktweet This is an ongoing natioanl health emergency on the highest scale equivalent to Bowel cancer or heart attack or stroke and much much higher than car accidents and suicides all of which get big news play
