Why do I think #MECFS and #Longcovid are #mitochondria based?
Because of persistent fatigue. That is the defining symptom. PEM is usually intermittent, fatigue is always.
Mitochondria make 95% of our energy through the Krebs cycle. And that seems ot be what's broken.
If anyone knows a physician who would consult for my Youtube channel I would greatly appreciate it
For example: I want to try using an oxygen machine and see if that affects ATP, HRV and subjective energy/wellbeing. Want to do so safely. Appreciate any referrals!

@HazylightsSa Everyone is fatigued though, right? Is that not exertional intolerance?
PEM is intermittent, is it not? I think there's also more to the story FYI
I think there could be overfocus on PEM and not enough on the fatigue. It's called chronic fatigue syn and not PEM syn for a reason
@joannamoncrieff Why not come up with other solutions or find the actual problem instead of complaining about something that actually helps people, some of the time?
Even placebo effects can be helpful assuming that is all that is happening.
And we know how bad SSRIs are for people
After taking some supplements I feel a tingling in my body, usually on the back of my body like upper back and shoulders. Almost always on my backside.
I think this is ATP being produced. Yet another thing I'm going to test in my lab
#cfs#longcovid
Probably the craziest thing I've learned since researching cfs and #mitochondria is the fact that the right, but very small (0.1-nM to 1-µM) amount of cyanide stimulates mitochondrial energy production (IV). Also we already have tiny amounts in our bodies.
NOT MEDICAL ADVICE
Something that sucks is that some interventions for #cfs could be having a positive effect, but we don't know bc they're very slow and we're not repeatedly testing our #mitochondria
1 thing I will be testing on my Youtube channel
Follow along to see the tests

I'm convinced that our bodies make #ATP overnight and that the reason for unrefreshing sleep is that our mitochondrial respiration is broken and thus we make less overnight.
And when I sleep longer/better than normal I feel much better, but only for an hour or so...
If I sleep really well sometimes in the morning I feel sort of ok for an hour or so.
Then after climbing the stairs a few times and getting the kids ready it's back to normal fugue/fatigue state. ugh.

@liamsLCjourney All of the mitoswab results on here are pretty bad. RNA is not the full picture unfortunately. That tells us about gene expression not the current state of our mitochondria. The Krebs cycle is unfortunately very complex; lots of things could be wrong.
