I was honoured to receive the leadership of the Igbo Community Welfare Association (ICWA), Kaduna State, on a congratulatory visit following my appointment as Director-General of the Igbo Political Movement, covering the 19 Northern States and the FCT.

During the visit, we discussed the importance of unity, solidarity and mutual support among Ndigbo. We also spoke about the need for greater political participation and working together to promote the interests and aspirations of our people.

The ICWA Kaduna State leadership also reaffirmed its support for the re-election of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in 2027.

I sincerely appreciate the leadership and members of ICWA Kaduna State for their goodwill, solidarity and continued support.

I am deeply honoured and grateful to the Igbo Community Welfare Association, Kaduna State, for the warm congratulatory visit following my appointment as Director-General of the Igbo Political Movement, Northern Nigeria & the FCT.

I sincerely appreciate the leadership and members of the Association for taking the time to visit me and for their confidence, goodwill and continued support.

This appointment is a call to greater service. I am committed to working with Ndigbo across the 19 Northern States and the FCT to promote unity, constructive political engagement and our collective interests.

As we journey towards the 2027 General Elections, we will work with renewed determination towards the re-election of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

The results are speaking.

Under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nigeria’s economy grew by 4.43% in Q2 2026, showing that the reforms are beginning to translate into stronger economic activity.

Today, the President’s new military salary increases also take effect, with junior personnel receiving increases of up to 80%.

At the same time, the Federal Government is strengthening security cooperation across the North-Central and launching new community-based early-warning mechanisms.

These are not just promises. They are actions.

A stronger economy. Better support for our security personnel. Stronger security coordination.

Let us continue to support the administration and the Renewed Hope agenda.

In the next few weeks, we are addressing some of the challenges facing our vulnerable population by providing cheaper means of transport, ramping up food production and implementing relief programmes that will touch lives at the grassroots.

The economy is on an irreversible path towards even stronger growth but growth must be something every Nigerian can feel at the dining table and in their pocket.

That is the next phase of our work, and we are not resting on our oars.

The Renewed Hope Agenda is working.

🇳🇬 TO THE IGBO PEOPLE LIVING ACROSS THE 19 NORTHERN STATES AND THE FCT

Take a step back from the noise and look honestly at the record of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. There is a record, and it is worth talking about.

On the economy, the naira has stabilised significantly, moving from a low of over ₦1,800 to the dollar in 2024 to around ₦1,400 today. Inflation has fallen substantially from 34.80% to below 16%, while foreign reserves have risen above $45 billion. Nigeria also exited the FATF grey list in 2025 after years of efforts to strengthen its financial system. These are not merely talking points; they are developments reflected in official and international data.

On business and trade, the administration has introduced tax and customs reforms aimed at reducing the burden on businesses. The new tax laws provide relief for qualifying small businesses, while Customs has expanded incentives, including duty exemptions for qualifying machinery and productive-sector inputs. A $300 de-minimis threshold was also introduced for eligible low-value imports, helping reduce costs for small-scale cross-border trade.

On education, NELFUND has disbursed close to ₦300 billion to students across hundreds of institutions. Young Igbo students are among the beneficiaries. This form of federal student financing simply did not exist before 2023.

On our homeland and connectivity, the South East Development Commission is funded and active, with ₦140 billion committed for 2026. The Enugu–Onitsha Expressway is under reconstruction after decades of deterioration. The access roads to the Second Niger Bridge are also under active construction.

Beyond the South-East, major road corridors are being developed to strengthen our connection with Abuja, the North and the West, including the Abuja–Keffi–Akwanga–Lafia, the Makurdi–9th Mile route and the Lokoja–Benin corridor. These are not simply roads; they are trade and economic corridors that connect our people, businesses and markets across Nigeria.

On security, the administration has deepened cooperation with regional and international partners to confront the threats that have made movement, commerce and investment difficult for our people in parts of Northern Nigeria.

On governance and workers' welfare, the national minimum wage has increased from ₦30,000 to ₦70,000. Local government autonomy has also been strengthened following the Supreme Court's landmark ruling, with the potential to bring greater resources and accountability closer to the people.

No administration can rebuild a country in three years. But this administration has moved on several fronts, with measurable developments across important areas of our national life. Those developments deserve to be examined honestly and objectively.

It is with this background that the Igbo Delegate Assembly (IDA) representing the 19 Northern States and the FCT has entrusted me with the responsibility of serving as the Director General of the Igbo Political Movement – Northern Nigeria.

I accept this responsibility with humility and a deep sense of duty.

Our mandate is clear: to provide political leadership, mobilisation and constructive engagement for the Igbo community across Northern Nigeria, while facilitating greater political participation and support for the re-election of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

We seek to ensure that the voice, interests and contributions of the Igbo community in Northern Nigeria are properly represented and that our people participate meaningfully in determining the political future of our country.

I therefore call on every Igbo son and daughter across the 19 Northern states and the FCT to join us in this political movement.

Let us engage constructively.
Let us participate actively.
Let us advocate for our interests.
And let us support a Nigeria that works for all.
