Listen carefully to what Scott Bessent does here.
Ukraine attacks Russian refineries.
Those attacks can tighten global fuel supplies and push some refined-product prices higher.
That's real.
But Ukraine didn't wake up one morning and randomly decide to attack Russian energy infrastructure.
Russia invaded Ukraine.
And right now, global energy markets are also dealing with disrupted Middle East supplies and a Strait of Hormuz crisis driven by the U.S.-Iran war.

Ukraine is attacking Russia's ability to finance and supply a war Russia started.

And made CRYSTAL CLEAR we're in the power position
"The Canadian businesses are NOT with the Prime Minister. The Canadian military is NOT with the Prime Minister."
"They REALLY do need our country. What if we said to them, 'if you get in a conflict with any other country, we're not going to be there for you?' What would happen to Canada then?"
"We've had a free rider problem with Canada for a long time."
