@egi_nupe Someone with that kind of salary has no business paying a rent of 3.5m pa. That's a huge financial mistake already.
It means you are already using almost 5months of your salary to pay rent.
My philosophy: My 1 month salary should take care of my annual rent - Max. 2 months.
@DunsinOyekan This is exactly my testimony. Last year, I couldn't even share the whole details with my Local assembly because there's no way human can phantom. I just summarized it as:
'' God turned my Long term plans of 10-15years to a Short term Plan (within a Year).''
What Does the Bible Say About Christians Watching BBNaija?
BBNaija started last Sunday, and as usual, Christians are divided over watching it.
Some say Christians should not watch it, while other believers say it's fine. So, let's see what our Bible says.
First, BBNaija didn't exist in Bible times, so the Bible couldn't have addressed it directly.
However, the Bible addressed the most fundamental thing about the show: the lifestyle and behavioral ideals of the show.
This is where believers should dwell when determining whether we should expose ourselves to the content of BBNaija.
So what are the lifestyles and behaviors that form the essence of the show?
Let's give actual examples from the previous season that caused a frenzy here on Twitter.
One popular female housemate exposed her private part live on continental TV.
Brethren, she went fully naked from her waist down in front of other housemates, both genders.
Another trend went viral of a female housemate performing oral intercourse on a male housemate, live on continental TV.
There is a celebrity couple now whose marital journey started from casual sex in a bathroom while in the BBNaija house.
Two complete strangers hooked up in several recreational sexual encounters within just 90 days of meeting each other.
Finally, the infamous party, which is the second weekly most anticipated part of the show.
We will not go into details, but you can picture almost completely unclothed women and men, exposed sexual areas, barely-there dresses, loud music, and alcohol.
These are all the elements you'd need to host a party you'd want to be as carnal and sexual as possible.
This is essentially what BBNaija is all about. If you stripped the show of everything, what you would discover as possibly most essential would be:
- Nudity
- High sexual immorality
- Alcohol-driven festivities
In fact, all other Big Brother franchise shows are actually infamous for their total disregard for any moral restrictions against sexual immorality and nudity.
So, what does Scripture say about this lifestyle behavior?
And what can such behavior do to believers? We have our answer in Romans 13:11-14:
Verse 11:
"And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed."
Paul opens with telling Christians that the coming of Jesus, our second salvation, our glorification, is near.
That means the Bridegroom is coming for the ten virgins. They must be prepared. Now, what is the preparation?
Verse 12:
"The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light."
In anticipation of the glorious appearance of Jesus, we must cast off works of darkness.
Works of darkness were the sins we were dead in before being saved.
If this is still found in us when Jesus returns, we won't be worthy of His kingdom.
But what are these dead works per se? Verse 13 mentions them, and that's where BBNaija comes in:
"Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy."
Six distinct lifestyles are mentioned here that the believer must put off to be worthy of our second salvation, the glorious appearance of Jesus:
- Revelry
- Drunkenness
- Lewdness
- Lust
- Strife
- Envy
Look at the dictionary definitions of the first four and how it perfectly captures what BBNaija is essentially about:
Revelry:
"Lively and noisy festivities, especially when these involve drinking a large amount of alcohol."
Drunkenness:
"The state of being drunk; intoxication."
Lewdness:
"Indecency or obscenity; vulgar sexual character or behavior."
Lust (licentiousness):
"Sexually unrestrained; lascivious; libertine; lewd."
Guys, BBNaija is hallmarked by the very sinful behaviors the Bible expressly warned believers to put off as it disqualifies them from inheriting our glorious bodies when Jesus returns.
Some may argue they watch the show for the drama, intrigues, or games and all.
That may be valid, but what the show essentially is is rooted deeply in revelry, lewdness, and licentiousness.
These are sins powerful enough to disqualify us from our blessed hope of the gospel, which is why we were saved.
It is worldliness. And that is what grace was given to shield us from:
Titus 2:11-13:
"For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people."
"It teaches us to say โNoโ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age"
"While we wait for the blessed hopeโthe appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ."
In conclusion, the arguable essence of BBNaija is precisely what the grace of the gospel was revealed to turn you away from.
The lifestyles that are celebrated in the show are what the Bible warns Christians to put off, lest we be unworthy to receive our glorious body.
So, to answer the question, should believers watch BBNaija?
Well, if a show promotes visible works of the flesh the Bible warned us against, then we should flee from such.
So, we believe Christians should avoid the show. We know there would be backlash, and that's fine.
But to those who see wisdom in what we have said, please ask for grace to abstain.
The Holy Spirit will help you.
May the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who called us into the glorious fellowship of His Son keep you and shed His light on your path that you know how to walk blameless.
Amen.
@dunnydrille@Row_Haastrup Congratulations to you @dunnydrille . Thank God for sparing your life.
The fact that people gave their lives through this testimony is the Apex for me. God is indeed Faithful
@accessbank_help Am I the only one not receiving reply from you?
I've lodged a complain about my failed POS transaction and you asked for account details since 10th of February. Up till now no response from you. Pls check your DM.

@accessbank_help
Hello Access Bank,
I've been trying to check through my transaction history on my app, it's not been going through.
I was debited #5000 on the 4th of February, 2023 at a fueling station which showed transaction declined on the receipt and was debited
@pst_iren@pst_iren This is one of the most amazing basist I've met. His name is Pius but he's not on Twitter.
Kindly check him out sir. You will love him.
@jon_d_doe Well, It depends on your definition of illiteracy.
"Illiteracy is inability to read or write or lack of knowledge on a particular subject matter or ignorance"- according to the dictionary.
First of all, a school dropout is not an illiterate as long as he can read or write.
@jon_d_doe Since this lady has agreed to to date him in the first place, it means the guy was doing well and his IQ is dope. The only constraint is the certificate he doesn't have which he can get anytime. Once he has a legitimately stable source of income and not an ignoramus, it's a GO.
@jon_d_doe Also, check the circumstances that surrounded his drop out.
Circumstances can make him drop out or uneducated but he might have the mind of an educated person. Las las, this certificate is just over hyped. The state of mind is the Koko๐
Is he intelligent enough to handle you?
