@RobTalksLobos another reason officials have late whistles: we are taught to let plays Start Develop-and Finish. Plays happen so fast must process and ask "is their advantage or disadvantage" on play. Better late whistle then miss a call entirely.

@RobTalksLobos Hey Rob you ask during MW telecast of MWBB "Why officials wait so long to blow whistle?" Many reasons. Officials are taught to call in their Primary coverage area. If official misses a call in his area another could pick up the call but he should wait.
