Colby Donovan and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain officially saw their Celtic contracts expire yesterday and, as things stand right now, are both free agents.

Of course, it's still possible that Celtic have agreed new deals behind the scenes and simply haven't announced them yet, but until that happens, both players are technically out of contract.

There is a huge amount of work needing done this summer and not a lot of time to do it. With contracts expiring, expected departures, potential sales and a Champions League qualifier looming on the horizon, Celtic's recruitment team have a massive few weeks ahead of them.

Pre-season is now only around four weeks away and the Champions League qualifiers will come around very quickly after that. The club simply cannot afford another slow start to a transfer window if they want the squad in the best possible shape for what could be a season-defining European tie. 🍀
