You couldn’t put it to work.

You simply had to feed it until the “gift” ate you into poverty.

Centuries later, we’ve apparently reinvented the same madness and renamed it EMPOWERMENT.

Find a struggling family.

Give them a dairy cow.

Take the photograph.

Post it on Facebook.

Then Disappear.

Then leave the family with the fodder bill, water, drugs, AI, housing, vaccinations and the vet who wants money at 2am when the animal collapses.

Soon the cow is eating better than the people it was supposedly donated to rescue.

If you genuinely want to empower a poor dairy farmer, build the ecosystem around the cow: feed, veterinary support, insurance, breeding and a guaranteed market for the milk.

Otherwise you haven’t necessarily lifted someone out of poverty.

You may have simply gift-wrapped an expense, taken a photograph with it, and called yourself a philanthropist.

That mentality is the real white elephant we need to kill.
