@reardon_red@doglegpar3 He's fantastic Red; you're a terrific dad and coach. I just think his consistency would benefit. Can't wait to see him on a tour!
I miss my students being in school with me so much but, always looking on the bright side, with remote teaching I get to see lots of really cute pets! Tony C's hamster even joined us yesterday~
Lisa Carter had a great idea and asked me to help her with a welcome back project that would be unifying. I set about making several hundred notepads and adorned matching pens to be given to every staff in the district to promote Region One Unity. I hope they were well received!
Sure teaching is challenging, however, if you do two things consistently, it gets a lot easier. 1) Be genuinely more pleased to see your students each day than they are to see you and 2) be more interested in your subject matter than they are.
As we return, I'm reminded of my good fortune. Sometimes I come across what appears to be envy of teachers. I always confirm it with yes, you ought to envious of teachers. Just don't let it be about the time we're on vacation. The best days of my year don't happen in the summer.
To those who believe that schools should fully reopen, I ask if you'd be ok with 20 teenagers from all over the district coming into your home. After you spend an hour with them, we switch groups. 5 times a day, 5 days a week. You may social distance & mask them all you'd like.
As we look forward to school opening I'm excited about reconnecting with my students. I so miss them. As we continue to advance the current hybrid schedule, I implore everyone in our school community to be vigilant in caring for my well being as I will be vigilant in yours.
@jenmamma4@PeterVermilyea It breaks my heart to see the world we're leaving these amazing young people. Our plan and expectation in the 70s was that racism, misogyny and homophobia would suffocate in our lifetimes. Cali, X, Brynn and all of young America, I'm sorry. Thank you for sharing your voice.
