@SargentBarnes7@sammyhagar Sam played guitar on 2 Van Halen songs and they agreed to play 2 Sam songs live out of kindness. He joined VH, they didn't join Hagar. It's crazy I'm trashing Sam because of Roth haters. I love the Sam VH era. Roth era is the one history will remember with Led Zep, AC/DC, etc.
@SargentBarnes7@sammyhagar Van Halen took Hagar from B list to the stratosphere. Sam had a great voice and could write great melodies. This was his strength. His lyrics were garbage. Ed wrote ALL the music with Alex. Roth was unique. There was nobody like him. Sam is a superior guitar player? Who cares!
@SargentBarnes7@sammyhagar How many legit hits did Sam have? Name them. Most people won't know them. It's ironic because I love the Sam era VH records, but Sammy fans have some weird inferiority complex and constantly trash Roth. Roth may be bad now but he was awesome in the 70's and 80's
@SargentBarnes7@jawvana@sammyhagar Eddie NEVER asked Daryl Hall to join the band. Complete bullshit. He was throwing around ideas with Alex including an album with all different singers. But you go ahead and twist reality to fit your ridiculous Sammy/great, Dave/bad bullshit narrative.
@kickasstrophe@sammyhagar I disagree. The Simmons tom Tom's on 5150 make it easily the most dated sounding album in their catalog. That said, it's still a great album.
@SargentBarnes7@sammyhagar Van Halen saved Sammy's career!! He was a B list rocker with a "novelty" hit. They made him wealthy beyond his wildest dreams. You are clueless. Without VH he'd have no Cabo Wabo tequila $$ because no one would've cared about him!! And he screwed them!! The original VH was huge.
