@TheFieryBones @nikgroz @tonytost The literal plot of the movie and the action adventure vibe it goes for is obviously not grounded. The America portrayed of Sanctuary Cities, immigration as pretext, the highs and regrets of revolutionaries - that remains a hyper real vision.

@tonytost I was getting major Disney movie vibes from the last scene in the house. I don't think it detracted from my overall feelings about the movie and i respect the optimism but man it felt a little cheap

@nikgroz @tonytost Hard disagree on "hyper-surreal", by no means is this a hyperrealist movie but it absolutely is a hyper-real vision of the US over satirical. Every single thing here could happen today and not feel out of place - French 75, Lockjaw's use of immigration, reqmts for xmas adventurer
