1. The things I grew up with that helped ME become who I am

2. Things I created that are no longer as effective as they once were

3. The things I like because they fit MY preferences

There are communities in America so poor that they rival some of the world’s poorest places. Hard to fathom. These are hard places to start and sustain churches. One example is towns in the Arkansas Delta. What other poor communities and areas in U.S. need churches?

Growing churches often can’t afford to hire enough staff to keep up with growth, for one reason, because giving lags behind attendance. Declining churches often have increased giving even though they’re not bringing in new people. So they can afford to keep people on staff.
