I think the big energy transition challenge for oil companies is that they are expected to have high return/high volatility earnings and renewables are mostly good return/low volatility businesses. That kind of change is very hard to execute in either direction.

Depending on type of engineered removal this could be sound but there is quite a range. Folks we’ve been talking to prefer the more permanence and accurate calculations over say compromises such as “tonne years”…thanks for sharing
