@profstonge The US government is doing the same thing. Look at the number of unemployed, underemployed and left the job market, particularly in STEM fields. Almost half the 2025 STEM class hasn't found a job in their field yet businesses are hiring H1B's.
@RepBonamici You passed a bad bill the doesn't fix the problem. According to the FED, A large part of the housing problem is due to illegal and legal migration. Deport every single illegal & eliminate the H1B program & there won't be a housing problem.
There's no money for this bill either.
@PressSec Eliminate H1B/OPT visas entirely. We don't need their kind of talent. 70% of H1B's come from India and Indian trained engineers are pretty worthless. They can't compete head to head with American engineers.
We have millions of STEM graduates who can't find jobs because of H1B.
@RepBeccaB Bad bill that spends money we don't have without fixing the problem. If you really want to fix the housing problem, deport all illegal aliens and eliminate the H1B program.
As the FED said, illegals are contributing significantly to the availability and cost of housing.
@TinaKotek Oregons problems are not related to Trump at all. We rank worst in almost every category, all because of Democrat policies, your policies
OR Democrats are responsible for business and families leaving, our crappy economy and the high cost of living here.
@ReptileRaised If you don't learn the concepts and understand the math demonstrably, how will you know what the AI is giving you isn't crap? AI is a tool that no one understands how to use yet. Part of the problem is AI lies and makes things up.
@SenMarkKelly Throwing money at the problem won't fix it. Get rid of the ACA and repeal the ability of insurance companies to own hospitals and run clinics. Remove Insurance companies ability to control patient care.
@ORSecretaryRead@OregonSOS I want to see the Oregon voter database online, fully searchable and downloadable. If set up properly, no human interaction is required so no cost to the state. It appears the $500 is just to prevent accessibility for the average person.
@RandPaul@POTUS@VP Maybe look into the number of fortune 500 companies that have outsourced to India, laid off thousands of Americans and the replaced Americans with H1B's.
@CaptMarkKelly Mark, with all due respect, If you want homes affordable & rents reduced, you can increase available housing by deporting the approximately 100 million illegals. You could also support eliminating the H1B program which would add to available housing & open up jobs for Americans.
@PattyMurray We don't have the money. $40 trillion in debt, >$150 trillion in unfunded liabilities & we are running >$2 trillion deficit.
The impact on families because of the 3% inflation rate results in a 35% reduction in the value of the dollar over 10 years.
@GovTinaKotek Housing first is a disaster & will not solve or be part of the solution for homelessness. >80% of the problem is drug addiction/mental illness. Solve those two problems first & you will see a dramatic decrease in homelessness & you will not have the chaos & filth on our streets.
@ReichlinMelnick Anyone who comes to America illegally should never be given a path to citizenship or legal status. They have shown a distain for our laws to begin with. Not a good start for them.
@maziehirono The only question is are they in the US illegally. If yes, then the only option is arrest & deportation.
Illegals have two options, self-deportation or arrest & deportation. There is no in between and certainly no, we'll look the other way while they continue to break the law.
@ewarren Removing all illegals and all the H1B's would open up the housing market and significantly lower prices. We don't have a housing crisis; we have an illegal immigrant crisis to the tune of approximately 100 million.
