@realJaredGilman@SiddhantAdlakha Oh damn, Didnโt see that! I have to work with interpreters for my job sometimes and itโs not always easy or fast moving, so when itโs working, Iโm in awe haha.
Q&A with Director Kiyoshi Kurosawa (moderated by David Fear) after a screening of The Samurai and the Prisoner. The movie was great and the conversation was a lot of fun! @FilmLinc@janusfilms
Iโm really excited to see The Samurai and the Prisoner. I havenโt seen a lot of Kiyoshi Kurosawaโs films but Iโve loved all of the ones Iโve seen.
@Srirachachau@thomasochism I feel like the dialogue was so at odds with the visuals. I wonder if he was to have someone write more poetic dialogue, if the vibe heโs going for shined through more clearly.
@garrito1016@ben_eales The parents of the dead guy donโt even seem like theyโre married to each other. You never get a sense of these characters having any sort of internal life outside of what we see. The dad should seem like he has some connection to the grandma etc.
@kenzie__xcx I feel like making the family all hate each other is really stupid. The whole appeal of Evil Dead is that itโs hard for people to dismember the bodies of their friends/loved ones. Making them hate each other takes all the conflict out of it.
