Jonesborough Town Attorney Jim Wheeler, also a Washington County commissioner, says final say on re-zoning rests with county, but he says county commission would still like recommendation from regional planning commission before moving forward @WJHL11

Despite a large turnout from Eagle’s Nest residents, the Jonesborough Regional Planning Commission did not have a quorum, and no action was taken.

Johnson City Commission has approved a beer license at Greene Stadium (Home of ETSU Football)

ETSU Officials tell us this is specific to the Miranda Lambert concert on April 29.

BUT - they will use beer sales then as a test case for future events

Buffalo Mountain Fire Update from TN Division of Forestry:

- crews spent afternoon building back fires to burn off unburned plant matter before main fire gets to it
- they will stay on mountain late tonight to prepare for high winds tomorrow.

Just spoke to Hawkins County EMA Director Jamie Miller.

He says fire is 90% CONTAINED. Still no timeline on full containment.

We’re told there is no timetable on when this fire could be completely contained.

Crews have been attempting to contain it, but Hawkins County EMA Director Jamie Miller says dry conditions and high winds with changing directions are making containment difficult.

BREAKING: On scene here at Nolichucky Gorge Campgrounds.

Unicoi Co. Sheriff Mike Hensley just told me a body has been removed, and this is a homicide investigation.

He says a person has been detained. There is no threat to the public at this time.
