I work in aviation. Most people would probably be surprised by how many neurodivergent people work in the industry. In the nicest way possible, you're basically being kept alive by a load of people with autism, whose childhood obsession with planes has become their career.
@scruftgirl@HavelockRoadBtn I think it’s probably disengenious to try and boil it down to classes… the area to the North/West, especially up against the Woods are very lovely. The consultation results have never shown support there though, because it’s only random dog walkers that park there :)
@scruftgirl@HavelockRoadBtn 300+ petition responses in less than a month for a proposed area of less than 800 homes.. note that the full Hollingdean consultation earlier this year garnered ~750 responses total, so petition turnout appears to be massive in comparison. I wouldn’t describe that as unwelcome…
@BHDemocracyNews@TrevMu10@WithdeanGreens Important to note here perhaps: there is precedence for this. Zone G is made up of two roads, which don’t even connect to one another. That zone came about because the residents there petitioned the council in exactly the same way.
@CarolinePenn2 @SvenRufus@danieljyates Caroline, do you mind if I reach out to you via email or something similar? I’d really like to understand what actually happened in Hollingdean during the 2017 parking kerfuffle. Was there ever a formal consultation, or just people yelling over one another to get their way?
@SvenRufus Yup. And that really what their leaflets did was highlight just how many of the cars they put (multiple) fliers on didn’t move at all from one week to the next.. done now anyway, it’s just left to us to clear up their mess. There’s still a half dozen of the things in our hedge..
@SvenRufus I feel like it’s worth clarifying: the batch of fliers that ‘they’ (whoever they are) distributed during this consultation had a typo: ‘One Hollindean’ (with the ‘g’ missing). It was one of many spelling issues including a malformed link and a QR code that didn’t actually work..
@SvenRufus I’m fairly confident she is a Hollingdean resident, although also a camper van and Airbnb owner so presumedly has something to lose there. The fact that she was approaching (and using) non residents to distribute them says a lot. As does her apparent refusal to clear up the mess.
@SvenRufus One of the people responsible for distributing these ‘One Hollindean’ fliers posted on the (neighbouring) Fiveways group asking for volunteers. She was asked why she wasn’t asking Hollingdean residents, and how/when they planned to pick their litter back up again. She deleted it.
#todayi have arrived at the end of what feels like a very long non-disclosure period. This means I can now happily and proudly begin to piece together a new portfolio piece and share some of the really very cool stuff I was working on more than a year ago!
I’ve been an @O2 customer for more than twenty years; longer than they’ve existed in fact - my contract began with BT Genie. I’ve had a tech issue with them for over six months, which they’ve promised to resolve multiple times, and haven’t. I’ve never even received a call back.
#todayi have signed a contract which will likely take me off the market for the coming year. I'll be working through a complete migration and re-platforming from a legacy monolithic application to something a little nipper, and headless.
