Med sorg i hjärtat vill jag meddela att Kristian Borell har lämnat oss. Kristian var en fantastisk vän som spred glädje, värme och omtanke omkring sig. Mina tankar går till familj och nära i denna svåra tid. Vila i frid, Kristian. Du kommer alltid att finnas i våra hjärtan. ❤️
Wow. A bishop just called out Trump and Vance to their faces at church.
“The vast majority of immigrants are not criminals. May I ask you to have mercy, Mr. President, on those whose children fear their parents will be taken away.”
I’ve been reporting from the ground for 10 years, and I’ve never seen anything even close to what I witnessed today and yesterday.
This feels like a turning point in #GeorgiaProtests. I have never seen the Georgian people so unyielding. Just last week, I wrote that the smaller crowds in the streets compared to spring meant nothing — except that the anger hadn’t gone anywhere. Instead, it was simmering, growing stronger, waiting for the regime’s next mistake to erupt with even greater force.
Today’s riot was dispersed so many times, in such brutal ways, that I’ve lost count. So many people were bloodied. So many were detained.
Yet even now, Rustaveli Avenue is filled with people — beaten, bruised, exhausted, disappointed, and fiercely angry — but still holding EU flags with pride. Because we believe, that Europe is our home, and we will not surrender it at any cost.
Help us. Don’t let us lose this country to the Russians. No one has fought harder for it than we have.
John Stewart on CRT and Cancel Culture:
John Stewart understands people. He understand how the system works. Listen to his reasoning why Republicans tend to cling to the whole CRT and cancel culture narrative. Then tell me if you agree.
"What would you do if you were out of governing ideas? If you didn't know how to govern a country of this magnitude and a country of this diversity and you are basically running on 'Government is broken," and when you get in office you have to be terrible in order to prove the original premise? It must be great to be able to do what."
Why is it that the only policy ideas we are hearing from Republicans appear to be about limiting the rights of people unlike them? How about things that actually help us all thrive? Scaring people into voting, in my mind, is not a winning strategy. Giving them hope is.
