@mrjamesmack @bellacaledonia When I'm told that I must accept a particular tenet of gender ideology or I am a fascist/bigoted/far-right then that is not my problem. A trans woman as an individual deserves support and fairness, but I'm not going to accept that their sex is female just because I am told to.

@mrjamesmack @bellacaledonia It is good to support trans people as they seek to live their lives without harassment.
It is not good to demand that everyone must accept that sex can be changed, that gender is an objective quality that is subjectively identified and that anyone can be a woman if they choose.

No. A number being odd is necessary for it being prime (>2) but it is not sufficient.

There can be similar mixed competitions in golf that work well.

What a fabulous end-of-season concert by @RSNO last Saturday! In 'Hebrides' we could smell the seaweed; the 3 Songs were very moving; the Choral Symphony was a Joy! I've been singing it ever since - not always in my head!

Hello all. A quick update from me.

My sex screen assay is progressing well.

I promised rapid: I can detect SRY from a cheek swab in about 30 minutes. I am currently testing whether I can drop it to 10 minutes without compromising reliability.

I promised cheap: The current cost per assay is about £2. I am currently testing whether I can drop this to below the pound line, and it’s very promising.

I promised accessible: The assay could be run by any grassroots sports coach, school nurse, and my Mum.

I promised on-site: This is where my lab efforts are currently focussed. I’ve always held “from the UK to Uganda” as a principle, and ensuring easy deployment is crucial. I’m currently learning a lot of materials science…

The other main push is setting up various blinded, larger-scale tests. This will require lots of form filling.
