@joshtpm Interesting that journalism "objectivity" practices alienated the right by seeming to cloak a liberal agenda, and "savvy" political coverage is alienating the left by cloaking its alignment with GOP interests. Nobody left to alienate
@joshtpm Interesting that Penn got some "what happened to him?" press when he was attacking the Mueller investigation and then actually advising Trump - but today he's back writing NYT op-eds as a "Democratic centrist"
@joshtpm Maybe a combination of knee-jerk "Trump says [some new BS]" = news, and the organizational prerogative, from the very top as we've seen, to avoid the perception of favoring Ds (libs we're not on your side). Has to filter down in thousands of small decisions, including headlines
@joshtpm Before Trump, we'd get all of this automatically. The fact that we get none of it now with Trump โ over a relatively minor detail โ shows how institutionally corrosive Trumpism is.
@joshtpm Important for several reasons: We need a detailed record of the incident for any Secret Service investigation/accountability; for public knowledge/trust of the institutions protecting candidates/officials; for transparency around leaders; for the historical record.
@joshtpm Also curious - article mentions the Canadian, Irish, and Danish governments are investors. How often do national governments invest in independent film productions? Some kind of troll of Trump on behalf of culture ministries everywhere?
