Known as the “Root Beer Lady,” Dorothy Molter spent more than half a century living deep in Minnesota’s wilderness. In 1934, she made the Isle of Pines on Knife Lake her permanent home, eventually becoming the last full-time resident of what is now the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.
Her home was extremely remote, with no electricity, running water, or telephone. Yet Dorothy was hardly alone. Thousands of canoeists made the journey to visit her, with as many as 6,000 to 7,000 people stopping by in a single year. Many came for Dorothy herself, but her homemade root beer became an attraction of its own. She brewed thousands of bottles using Knife Lake water and kept them cold using ice cut from the frozen lake during winter.
Dorothy had originally trained as a nurse and often helped injured or sick visitors who passed through the area. A 1952 magazine article famously called her “The Loneliest Woman in America,” although the nickname hardly matched a woman who welcomed thousands of guests to her wilderness home. Dorothy remained on Knife Lake until 1986, leaving behind one of Minnesota’s most unusual wilderness legends.

fsu rips up sod and drags a dead alligator head around The Swamp when they win, but Norvell is going to act like a 4 year old and refuse to shake Napier’s hand over a flag plant that Napier looked to be apologizing for?
Grow up, Peter Pan.
I always pull for Team USA. All sports. And I really don’t take joy in the earliest elimination ever for the USWNT.
But this team came to be defined by arrogant celebrity activists who went out of their way to exhibit shame in the US, begin the process of destroying their own sport (advocating for men to play women’s sports) and curry victimization with false narratives about equal pay. Nobody made it harder to root for them than the USWNT.
There are women on this team who have poured their heart and soul and sweat into this team for the US. Who are proud Americans focused on soccer. I hope those players define the future of the USWNT.
There’s no way you can take a beating like the one LSU took and NOT be affected emotionally. Thing is, that can go one of two ways. LSU could have their souls sucked out of them and play dead. Or it could piss them off and have them lock in today. I’m betting it’ll be the latter.
Anyone running their mouth about about my nephew @tyron_hopper getting ejected dude spit on him and he pushed him down not even a punch…I would’ve knocked him out if he spit on me 💯
