Since academic X is abuzz about viewpoint diversity and conservatives in higher ed, and I've written a fair amount about this, it would be professionally irresponsible of me not to engage in some shameless self-promotion.

My basic position:

1) Yes, we need viewpoint diversity.
2) Yes, that means conservatives.
3) This is warranted on purely intellectual and epistemic (as opposed to political) grounds.
