🏃💨 ​Newcastle United are working on 'overdrive' to secure a deal for Spanish attacker Victor Munoz, according to teamTALK.

​The 22-year-old winger currently sits on a €40 million (£34.6m) release clause, but Newcastle's front office is actively trying to chip away at that price tag and some small clauses to close a slightly cheaper, more balanced deal. While Real Madrid still holds a sneaky buyback option on their former academy product, reports from The Athletic suggest Newcastle are highly confident the Spanish giants have no intention of using it. 🤑❌

​The real ticking clock here is the World Cup. Munoz was left on the bench during Spain’s opening group-stage game against Cape Verde, but Newcastle's leadership knows that could change in an instant. Ross Wilson is aggressively pushing to get the paperwork finalised because the club fears that a single dazzling performance on the global stage will invite heavy competition. 🌍⏳

​Luckily though Newcastle holds a massive trump card in personal terms. Even though Premier League sides like Manchester United and Liverpool have both sniffed around the winger, Munoz has reportedly knocked back interest from them. Sources close to the player reveal that moving to St James’ Park has always been his absolute preferred choice. While the player's loyalty gives us a major advantage, the hierarchy isn't taking any chances and wants this wrapped up before the world finds out what he can do! 🏰⚽

Gabriel not sent off against City for a blatent headbutt on Erling Haaland (Arsenal’s best defender would’ve been suspended for three games).

Callum Wilson’s goal disallowed for West Ham despite multiple fouls by Arsenal players and a similar goal for Arsenal given against Manchester United AND Newcastle United, earlier on in the season (Arsenal win 1-0).

Kai Havertz not sent off against Burnley despite a clear and obvious red card challenge (Arsenal win 1-0).

Aside from that, what a battle against the odds!!

I have witnessed this club go from doubters to believers, and from believers to champions. It took hard work and I always did everything I could to help the club get there. Nothing makes me prouder than that.

Us crumbling to yet another defeat this season was very painful and not what our fans deserve. I want to see Liverpool go back to being the heavy metal attacking team that opponents fear and back to being a team that wins trophies. That is the football I know how to play and that is the identity that needs to be recovered and kept for good. It cannot be negotiable and everyone that joins this club should adapt to it.

Winning some games here and there is not what Liverpool should be about. All teams win games.

Liverpool will always be a club that means a great deal to me and to my family. I want to see it succeed for long after I have moved on.

As I’ve always said, qualifying to next season’s Champions League is the bare minimum and I will do everything I can to make that happen.
