The Drone Component Manufacturers Symposium 2026, jointly organised by the Indian Army and Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers at the Manekshaw Centre, brought together industry leaders, innovators and defence stakeholders to accelerate India’s journey toward a self-reliant drone ecosystem.

With a sharp focus on low-cost, field-manufactured combat drones, the symposium highlighted emerging operational needs, critical technology gaps, and opportunities across propulsion, sensors, avionics and payloads. The event also fostered meaningful collaborations for rapid prototyping and scalable indigenous solutions.

It was all about together, shaping the next generation of battlefield technologies.

We did a demonstration this week at a unit in the Indian Army in Western Command for the review of Army Commander. It has a range of upto 17 km and an endurance of 90 min with day and night camera payloads.

Our next Drone for the Land and Naval Forces was showcased at East Tech Expo in Kolkota last week. JF3 VTOL will fly with an operational radius of 50km with an endurance of 3 hours capable of MSL 4000 meters.

Bad news. An @IndianNavy MiG-29K trainer operating at sea ditched at about 1700 hrs on Nov 26. One pilot has been recovered and search by air and surface units is in progress for the second pilot.
An inquiry has been ordered to investigate the incident.
