Trump confirmed yesterday he'd reveal his pick for Fed Chair this Friday morning. Bloomberg and others cite sources saying the administration is gearing up to nominate former Fed Governor Kevin Warsh — a more hawkish choice focused on monetary discipline, smaller Fed balance sheet, and higher real rates. Markets reacted bearishly: stocks dipped, yields rose, dollar strengthened, and Bitcoin fell sharply overnight, hitting lows around $81k before partial recovery, as traders see Warsh as less dovish/liquidity-friendly than alternatives. Bitfinex Hacker Ilya Lichtenstein Released Early from Prison

Hey crypto folks, some big news from the world of one of the most infamous hacks: Ilya Lichtenstein, the guy behind the 2016 Bitfinex breach that stole nearly 120,000 BTC (worth billions today), has been released from prison ahead of schedule.

🟢 Back in 2022, when he was arrested, the seized funds were valued at around $4.5 billion. The original hack in 2016 took about $71 million worth at the time—but with BTC's price surge, it's now over $10 billion in value.

🟢 He was sentenced to 5 years in prison back in late 2024.

➡️ How the attack works:

🟢 You get redirected from an email, a website, or a link to a fake site with a domain that looks very similar to the real one.
🟢 A phony “2FA security check” screen pops up, complete with a countdown timer and urgent warnings to create panic.
🟢 In the final step, they ask you to enter your seed phrase to “complete the verification.”
🟢 The moment you type in your seed phrase, your funds are drained—gone to the scammers.

⚠️ Important: MetaMask will NEVER ask for your seed phrase on any website, in an email, or through a pop-up. Only scammers do that!
