Used to live in Mexico City and went to most of the michelin restaurants. I'd rank them the following
1. Em (one of the best restaurants in the world imo) 2. Quintonil 3. Masala y Maiz 4. Pujol (went in 22, heard it went downhill tho) = Esquina, (huge drop off) 6. Maximo, 7. Rosetta, 8. Sud 777.
However, the non michelin starred places blew me away almost every time. Contramar, Jowong, Lorea, Azul, so so many incredible spots. And if your into tacos, any taco stand that has both bankers and blue collar guys in line was mad good.
@MrFamilyOffice flying hands down, i've met so many uhnw individuals when i learned how to fly. flying clubs, are a great way to meet these people (and half of the time you don't even realize how wealthy they are until days later)
@MrFamilyOffice So basically: <$50K = Excel and QuickBooks
$50Kโ$100K = one core platform
$100Kโ$200K = a few institutional tools stitched together
$200K+ = enterprise stack (Although imo you can now get pretty close to institutional operations for a lot less by having custom AI workflows)
@andruyeung This is a laughably bad take my goodness. Go to any part of town where there is nightlife (LES / West village / East village / bushwick / insert fun neighborhood) and it is packed
@dabbyduck24 @demiurgently Costco fairlife packs are a godsend. 30gs of protein/2$ a bottle. Drink 2 + chicken pesto parm at sweetgreen and youโre at 110. Throw in Greek yogurt and an omelette in the morning, youโre at 180 for the day easy
@sid331331 do some sparring. very acutely aware of the chin now bc I've been clocked quite a few times. but the best way to get better at boxing is to spar imo (granted i still suck haha). mostly train bjj for the past few years tho, boxing was something i started when i moved to Philly
Didn't stay for the speech, but the Q&A was very insightful into how to handle hard, broad sweeping questions with humor, depth, and nuance (e.g. he answered a question about his views on abortion starting with "I have had premarital sex" to lighten the mood ๐, started with a mutual understanding of the stances people have, and drilled down from there. Or how he dissected his views on Trump's economic plans down to how he's bullish on the energy sector but not solar, but new solar tech coming out might change that opinion).
Having the ability to have that micro-level insight on macro trends comes second nature to him it seems, and as people climb up to that level of access, that's the kind of mind you need to have.
@SeanODowd15@chernobelskiy@BillAckman Chiming in on this, currently a Wharton MBA student. Ackman himself visited us yesterday and hosted both a fireside and a pre-fireside Q&A with a few of us. Very few schools get you that kind of access (Harvard, Stanford, MIT, etc.)
@itsandrewgao From 2021 until a few months ago, I lived in Camas across the river from PDX for a few months / year working for Microsoft remotely, while i digital nomaded the rainy months. Learned how to fly at the nearby municipal airport too for relatively cheap. pretty fantastic life
